We give you the opportunity to work on large-scale projects that are shaping Auckland. Auckland Council’s two-year graduate programme is designed to give you broad experience through rotations, exposure to senior leaders and a tailored training programme so you can further develop your skills.

You will also have a support system consisting of a mentor, a buddy, a team leader and our graduate community.

All of this will help you drive your career. You’ll receive on the job training designed to develop your overall and role-specific skills. From day-to-day queries to performance conversations, you’ll have a strong support system with you every step of the way.

Every 4-6 months you’ll rotate through different teams within your field, gaining valuable experience from specialists and working on a range of diverse projects. You’ll also have opportunities to network with Auckland Council’s senior leaders throughout your journey.

Our graduate programme runs across 23 different departments, recruiting
a wide range of disciplines from Architecture and Communications to Finance, Cultural Studies and Sciences. We have something for everyone.
